The short version

Saakaar Watch Party has no accounts, no analytics, no ads, and no database. We can't sell your data because we don't keep any.

What the extension does

The extension synchronizes video playback (play, pause, seek) between members of a watch party and provides text chat plus optional voice/video calls. It runs only on the streaming sites listed in its permissions (YouTube, Netflix, Prime Video).

What data is processed

• Nickname & avatar — chosen by you, stored only in your browser (chrome.storage.local) and shared with the members of your party while you're in it.
• Playback events — play/pause/seek positions and the current video URL are relayed through our sync server to your party members in real time. They are held in server memory only while the party is live and vanish when it ends.
• Chat messages — relayed through the sync server to your party in real time. Never stored; there is no chat history or logging.
• Voice & video — streamed peer-to-peer via WebRTC, directly between party members. Media never passes through or touches our server (only the connection-setup handshake is relayed). Nothing is recorded.

What is never collected

• No video or audio content from the streaming services (DRM content is never accessed).
• No browsing history, no viewing habits, no personal identifiers, no email.
• No cookies, no analytics, no third-party trackers.

Streaming accounts

Every party member watches through their own streaming-service subscription. The extension never sees or handles your streaming-service credentials.

Data retention

Party rooms live in server memory only and are deleted the moment the last member leaves. There are no backups of party data because nothing is written to disk.

Children

The extension is not directed at children under 13.
